Volume 2 focuses on Yuhi and Momoka Saeki. After Nano's products nearly wreck his place in class, Momoka pulls him into a clubroom for outcasts and gives him somewhere to stand. Her real aim is to found an occult research club that could draw her shut-in brother Hikaru back into the world. Yuhi repays the favour by recruiting members, dragging in Nano and the parasites to make up the numbers, but Hikaru flatly refuses, saying he wants no refuge built by his sister. The book faces the way good intentions can wound, and Yuhi's own experience of isolation becomes his only useful weapon. Late in the volume the Yumeneko Company president acts, showing that Nano's sales work belongs to a much bigger scheme.
