Joseph Joestar, the second JoJo, takes the stage in America. Straizo, once a Ripple warrior and a friend of his grandmother Erina, becomes a vampire in his craving for youth and turns on Joseph. A strange stone statue is discovered with a stone mask in Mexican ruins, and Straizo, once a Ripple warrior, surrenders to his fear of aging and becomes a vampire like Dio. He attacks Joseph in New York, but Joseph avoids a contest of raw strength, beating him with traps, trickery and the Ripple. Destroyed by sunlight of his own choosing, Straizo reveals with his last breath that the Pillar Men, creators of the stone mask, still sleep. With the Speedwagon Foundation, Joseph closes in on Santana, a Pillar Man stirring beneath Rome.
